1. National Occupational Standards require you to, amongst other things, have regular supervisions. General Scoial Care Council - Codes of Conduct.
2. Think about the different ways & opportunities you have learnt new things, ie. how training has helped you in your role, ie. increased your knowledge & skills, enabled you to offer better care/support to individuals, given you a greater understanding of the complex issues regarding....., if you have shadowed other professionals how this has helped, how completing a course has aided your personal development ie. learnt new skills, increased in confidence, made you more aware of particular issues, attending a conference or workshop, the benefits to yourself, the individuals you work with, & their families, & the organisation.
3. Sources of support would be the people & resources who could help you plan & review your professional development ie. your line manager, (supervision, appraisal - personal development/action plan, colleagues (a course they have done that you're interested in) researching using books, the internet, newspapers, magazines, television ie. documentaries, friends & family.
